Wait Is an Action Verb
Within the Lord's will; if asked, it's where most believers will say they want to be. It's also a lot easier to do when it involves movement. It's my nature to echo the words of Isaiah and shout with my heart to the Lord, "Here am I! Send me," especially since we've lived on the road. It's so much a part of us.
But most recently, He didn't send us. He stayed us. The flu, truck issues, and now a snowstorm have kept us parked; none of which took the Lord by surprise.
So we pivot from a heart like Isaiah to one like Elijah. We'll wait and rely until the brook runs dry.
The beautiful thing about staying when we want to go or waiting when we hope to be sent is that it gives us practice. Almost nothing prepares my heart to wait on the Lord like waiting itself.
We took this picture a couple days before we thought we were leaving soon. We were ready for new faces and places. As much as we love our family and friends, our hearts are in campgrounds and RV parks across the country, sharing the Gospel and bringing community to believers. But the Lord has us in Oklahoma for a few more days (or longer...who knows?) so this is where He has something for us to do...even if it's "just" exercising our waiting muscles.
