More Than A Road Trip

Sharing the Gospel One Campground at a Time

Let’s Move on to the Good Stuff

Introductions often seem like the most uncomfortable part of a relationship. So many questions arise, at least in my mind, that will only be answered with time.

How much are we going to like each other? Will we stay acquaintances or are we really going to understand each other on deep, movie-quoting, life-sharing levels?

I consider myself supremely awkward at an introductory level. Small-talk and the other stuff of first interactions are only bearable at best. Can we please just be real immediately?

Though it’s unlikely in real life, it’s completely attainable online. And that’s how I want to start this blog, “…like we’re in the middle of a conversation. [Pretending] that we’re the oldest and dearest friends…” as Kathleen Kelly writes in Nora Ephron’s You’ve Got Mail.

In order to be old and dear friends (and in order for you to decide if we’re your kind of people) here’s little about us:

While we are a family that lives in our RV full-time, we’re also desperate to know Jesus better and make Him known to everyone we meet. My husband, John, and I have been married since 2005. We have three adventurous kids (one with special needs) and have been homeschooling since 2014. I have a heart for encouraging people (especially women) to enjoy and lean into the important roles that the Lord has them in during their current season.

Posts on this blog will usually be on one or more of the topics mentioned because I’m passionate about them and they’re what I know. I would never want to make something look better than it is, but there’s a lot of life that is better than it looks. I’m excited to share the good and beautiful things that are going on in our lives as we travel (as well as the not-so-beautiful things), meet new faces, share the Gospel, and grow in grace ourselves.

This endeavor is a long time coming. Thanks for being here!

May you be encouraged!

I think I can do what you ask ‘skip the small talk introductory’ stuff because I truly never ‘met’ you. I heard ‘of you’ through Marisa and Jadeyn (who proclaimed you the best teacher ever and who had faithfully taught J and her friends from 2nd grade on). Also I saw you ‘in miniature’ through Jane who immediately took Arlo under her wings in a class where Arlo needed someone just like Jane. So yes, we’ve never been formally introduced, but I know you, I recognize a familiar heart that also is daily seeking that same grace! Speaking from a time of brokenness, I crave to be a part of how God is using your family’s adventures.
